| Guys I'm a long time member but haven't posted in a while. I'll fill out my profile as soon as I post this. The reason I'm posting is because I'm afraid my 91 TT has a boost leak. I keep the car in Houston and come in every few months and use it to drive while I'm here. Last time I came down, I had to change the battery out and I think I hit some of the vacuum hoses because after that it started reving and idling erradically (sp?) at different times. Now I've come back and when I start it it sounds like it misfires, kind of sounds like a muscle car when I drive it, and barely holds many rpms and this is all the time. I've researched the heck out of this site and others but there is a lot of mixed up information. I'm looking for a write up on how to do a vacuum test. I found this for a boost leak test [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=922678&forum=technical&dtSearch=5 ] It references a plug that I'm supposed to use but I don't see where to get it.. I wish I knew a Z mechanic close by because I'm fairly mechanical but the Z, while I've loved this car since it came out and hence why I bought one back in '09, may be above my skill level. So please don't hate on me too much I've done pretty good in the few years I've had it. Thx for any direction anyone can give me on performing the vacuum or boost leak test.
